Big Thompson River

Description

Started this painting on location. It was a beautiful fall day . Finished this water color in our cozy cabin that evening . Some times It is fun just to get the large color areas laid in on location, and the finish the details in studio (AKA our cabin).

The Big Thompson River has its start in the high mountains of Rocky Mountain National Park in Forrest Canyon, flows down through the town of Estes Park where it makes a stop at Lake Estes, before continuing its way though the canyon along Highway 34. Our cabin was on the river.

This Painting is matted to fit a standard size 16 “x 20” frame. If you live near a Hobby Lobby or similar art supply store you can use a stock16 “x 20 ” size frame.
