Description
This very fast butterfly had just landed on the phlox in my garden. I had to take several pictures to get one where he had his wings open. In this painting I worked to get the butterfly to be as three dimensional as I could. Also painted the greenery in the background so would not distract from the the flowers or the yellow swallowtail.
